Inspiration and a Freebie

Today passed in a blur.   I know I was busy but what did I do besides clean house and chase my kiddos all day?!  I meant to have this ready early today.  One thing led to another and now it’s 10:00 p.m. and I’m just getting around to blogging about it.

Before I get to the freebie I have a very special kit to tell you about.  Special Olympics holds a dear place in my heart because of some of the students I teach.  I see all the kids in the elementary school I teach at and that includes two classes of wonderful special needs children.  These kids are the ones who come into my classroom so innocent and unassuming.  They grasp life with both hands and it is such a joy to watch them enjoy life to the fullest.  Even at the tender age of 6, 7, 8 , 9 they don’t let life’s circumstances hold them back.  Special Olympics gives them the freedom to feel that moment of success and pride that the world often tries to take away or diminish in some way.  They don’t see the world like we do, often times I think we would all be better off if we could view the world through their eyes even if it was just for a little while.

Scraps of Ellay has created a kit called Never Give Up that she is donating all the proceeds for to Special Olympics from now through Feb. 5th, 2010.  It is a bright, cheerful, and fun kit that would be a great addition to any scrapping stash.

I mentioned a freebie in my opening so here it is.  I have loved all the great positive comments about my Winterlicious kit.  I’m so glad that so many of you liked it.  I loved getting to see layouts done with the kit and Moyenbof used it to create a custom header for her blog which I adored!  Sorry I couldn’t leave a message in French, I think I’ve forgotten much of what I learned in that language from lack of use.

Wow oh wow!

I’m so glad everyone is liking my Winterlicious kit.  Thank you to all of you who took the time to let me know what you think about it.  I would love to see any layouts or hybrid projects you make with it.

A gift to you from me *EXPIRED*

I totally meant to have this to you yesterday.  I started off with good intentions but I just didn’t get everything together.  So instead of a Christmas gift you’ll be getting an after Christmas gift.  I hope you don’t mind too much.  I really think this was worth the wait anyway.

I started making this for the ESS Color Challenge and then it just kept growing and I couldn’t stop!  I hope you all enjoy creating with this kit as much as I enjoyed making the kit for you.

Before I show you the kit I want to share a few layouts made with the kit.  Lori of Scraps of Ellay offered to make a layout for me (I love my CT boss!). 

And here is one I finished up today.  We actually got snow on Christmas Eve here in our part of Texas.  First of all we hardly ever see snow, second the last time we saw any winter weather on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day was in 2000 when our oldest DD was 2 months old!  My 3 children had never seen snow at Christmas at home.  The snow didn’t last long – probably because it was 70 degrees the day before but it sure was pretty coming down.

Merry Christmas and my wish for you is that you enjoy a wonderful 2010 scrapping your precious memories!

I’m going to have to bail on this one because I have a physical therapy appointment in the middle of the SS but I know Ellay has an extremely fun speed scrap planned and the participation prize is a secret!  So if you are hanging around digi-land and want some inspiration to get a layout done quick just click on the flier to be taken off to the forum where you can get into the chatroom.  Usually the instructions are posted in the forum too so if you feel overwhelmed by the chat room you have another option to participate.  :)  Just saying, these are always a load of fun and I wish I didn’t have to miss!

Sale and a Speed Scrap

Just popping in for a minute.  You know how it is this time of year, everything goes absolutely crazy!  I had these grand plans of things I was going to have done by today but none of the happened.
