News

I've been sitting on this news for over a week and it's been so hard not to say anything. I'm a CT for Scraps of Ellay! I still can't believe that she picked me! I'm already having a blast being on her CT. She is a fabulous new designer and I've made a few LO's with her stuff to share with you. First my blog design is from her kit "A Brisk Walk." Here are two more LOs I did using that same kit: This one was for the font challenge at ESS. And this one was for the quote challenge at STS. You can still get this kit over on Ellay's blog here. Remember Ellay has created this wonderful charity kit for RFL. While you are visiting her blog just add a donation to RFL to pick up this kit. She's got a freebie mini preview kit offered too. So if you haven't been over to her blog, get over there, leave some love, and donate a little for a great cause!

Charity kit by Ellay

Ellay has created a charity kit for Relay for Life.

You can get the kit for a donation (of any amount) to the Relay. There is a link on Ellay's blog. If you aren't familiar with the Relay For Life, there is a link in the upper right corner of her blog....you can read about it there. It benefits the American Cancer Society. Almost every person I know has been touched by cancer either personally or through a family member or close friend. Just click on the preview to be taken to her blog.

Here is a LO I did with this kit to inspire you (as if the preview wasn't enough!). So hop over to her blog and make a donation already! It's for a great cause and you get a wonderful gift from Ellay.

Awesome kit and Add-on Freebie

I told you earlier today that SuzyQ Scraps and Brittney of Britt-ish Designs collabed a fabulous new kit that went into the store today called Tale As Old As Time. Here is a preview of this awesome kit. If you like it the preview is linked to SuzyQ's store. My LO earlier today was made with this kit and I only scratched the surface. This would be perfect for any of those "Beauty and the Beast" type LO's you have been waiting to create! SuzyQ and Brittany also both have freebie Add-ons for this kit. Go here to find SuzyQ's add-on and there is a link for Brittany's there too.

Exciting news!

I was accepted onto SuzyQScraps QT! I'm so super excited! I still can't believe she picked me. I've been super busy this week putting some things in place so I can do my job as a QT but I finally had time to complete a LO Wednesday night. I used a brand new collab kit by SuzyQScraps and Britt of Britt-ish Designs called Tale As Old As Time. It goes into SuzyQ's store at here at ESS today! This kit is so adorable! It is perfect for all those prince and princess LO's! I'll be back with a preview of the kit later since I scheduled this post on Thursday night. Trust me - this is one kit you don't want to miss!

New blog look

When I pulled up my blog today it looked really strange. Everything was off kilter. I know that it didn't look that way yesterday. I don't know if gremlins took a pot shot at the HTML or what. I decided that it was past time for a new look anyway. Ellay has entered the world of design and created a kit called "A Brisk Walk." I got permission from her to use her kit to create my blog redesign. I love this kit and will probably be tweaking my blog from her stuff for a while. If you like what you see here then you can pick up the full kit from her blog here. Look in the archive posts for the links. This kit is beautiful. Way to go Ellay! I'm going to be out of pocket the next few days. We leave tomorrow sometime to head to Arkansas for a family wedding that's Saturday. We'll be getting back late Saturday night and then Sunday it'll be busy getting things ready for a week of school. I hate that Spring break is over. If I can get Internet access where we're staying I'll check in tomorrow. If not, I'll definitely check in on Sunday. :) Happy scrapping!

Why I like digi-scrapping and a template by MandaK

One reason I like digi-scrapping is the ability to change what you don't like without the mess. Last night I worked on a LO using a Template by MandaK. She makes some very fun and cool templates. When I finished for the night I thought I was done with the LO but when I looked at it this morning I didn't like parts of it. Click here and there and Voila! A new and improved LO emerged. No mess, no waste. Awesome! I never could get into traditional scrapping because of the mess factor. Digi-scrapping totally takes that element away. Here's the LO I finally ended up with.

The template is by MandaK. Papers and elements are from Maurice collab kit by Digi-designs by Nicole and Gettin'Scrappy with Britt. It is a freebie this week on their blogs. This is just a small taste of the fun papers. The colors are fabulous! If you click on Nicole's blinkie you can get to both parts of this awesome collab. You can also pick up MandaK's template in Nicole's forum. It's one MandaK is using for this week's challenge. Sign up to the forum and join the challenge, you'll be glad you did!

Another reason I like digi-scrapping - the ability to save and go - no cleanup time needed! Gotta run for now!

Early birthday gift

Yesterday I got an early b-day present from my family. When I say early I mean very early - my birthday isn't until April. My DH and I have discussed getting a laptop for me for a long time. Until now I had been able to talk us out of it for one reason or another. It finally got to the point where the reasons to buy one outweighed the reasons not to. So my DH had been looking around and found a good sale that had a computer he approved of. The coolest advantage? I now can scrap to my heart's content and be anywhere I need to be with my family and my DH can quit suffering from computer withdraw!

Scrap happy

The past few weekends I've gotten quite a few LO's completed. Most for different challenges at ESS but a few just to try out new techniques that I'm learning. My biggest accomplishment is learning to do extractions of photos. One of the neat things about digi scrapping is that there is more than one way to get the same or similiar result. You just have to find what works best for you. This is a LO I completed today using SuzyQ Scraps kit Puddle Jumpers. The frog with the word art "kiss me" was the March Elf Excerpt freebie at ESS by Jeanette Bollinger. If you register at ESS then you can download it and join the challenge. I think it is just adorable. Here is a link to Enchanted Studio Scraps in case you decide to swing by. I have to say I really like this forum. Everyone is so friendly and there's always something going on. This is another LO I finished this weekend that I'm really proud of. I spent a long time last night (staying up way later than I should have but hey, that's what Spring Break is all about right?) working on the extraction. I used a free collab kit by the designers at Sunflower Scraps that is downloadable from TDS this week. I counted 8 LO's that I did last weekend and I know I did at least 4 this weekend. I hope to get several more completed this week while we are out for Spring Break though I don't know how many I'll actually get done because my family and I are traveling to Arkansas at the end of the week. My mom's sister is getting remarried. She asked me to play at her wedding and Gaylon to sing a couple of special songs. My poor mom will be corraling our 3 munchkins. I'll be back with more LO's soon.

It's March - How did that happen?

Somehow Feburary just flew by. I haven't had one weekend since the last weekend in January without something going on. Hopefully March will be a little calmer.
I did manage to get a few LO's completed in the last couple of weeks. Two for speed scraps at ESS. The second one I didn't think I would complete. I felt way out of my league with that one.
This is the LO I did for Friday night's SS at ESS. I used parts of the Spring Delight Mega Kit that you can get at ESS.
This is a LO I did today for the Build a Fairy Treehouse template challenge at ESS. We finally got some family photos with the kids dressed up. Nate loves being in his dress clothes. I think he's going to take after his Daddy on wanting to look sharp.
This LO was one I did last night for another challenge at ESS. I got the kit DinoRAWR by SuzyQ Scraps as a RAK. This is the first LO I've finished with it. The kit is adorable!!! Nate loves dinosaurs so this will be a perfect kit to scrap some LO's of him.
I hope to be posting a little more frequently this month. Last month was crazy busy. I'm looking forward to March being less hectic.
