New kits

Wow, how did it get to be Friday all ready?  Not that I’m complaining, we’re counting down the days until summer break.  I’m ready to be able to spend time with my kids doing family stuff and not feel like I have to limit our time outside because we have school the next day.  I’m ready to catch up on some recreational reading, finish up some cross-stitch projects, scrap a lot, and RELAX!!

Sorry, I got a tad off topic there.  There are 5 new kits out today by two of the designers I CT for.  First SuzyQ Scraps has out 3 kits that were freebies a few weeks ago.  I Want Sunshine, Pet Dragon, and Ouch!  I don’t have previews to show you but I do have a couple of layouts to share.

Here’s one I did with I Want Sunshine.   I did it for the Mystical Motto Challenge at ESS.My girls were playing on the church lawn before we headed in for our son’s preschool gradution.  Can’t you feel the love?

This second layout was done with Pet Dragon, which is a super cute kit!  I was playing around with the design element of repeating patterns.  I love how the photo turned out.

Second, A+ Designs has two brand new kits out today.  The first one is Sweet Eve.  I love the soft color palette she used for this kit.  Here is a layout I did with this precious kit. love curled edges.

Then she has another kit out called Zoo-licious that is absolutely full of the most adorable zoo life!  Here’s my inspiration layout with this kit.

Another Fayries layout

Just a reminder that today you need to swing by Scraps of Ellay’s blog and Dream Big’s blog to pick up the elements for Fayries.  Isn’t this kit beautiful?  In case you still need more inspiration here’s another layout that I did with this kit.

New Blog look

I decided it was time for a fresh look.  So I played around some with a collab kit by Scraps of Ellay and Scrappy Cocoa called Butterflies Are Free.  It was one that they had as a freebie a couple of months ago but if you missed it you can pick it up @ SOE’s store here.  Psst … here’s a little secret …. it’s on sale until midnight … 25% off, hurry and pick it up!

New “Magical” kit

Scraps of Ellay and Dream Big Designs have a new free collab kit coming out beginning today called Fayries. It is magical and beautiful. I can’t wait to see what all of you create with this gorgeous kit!

I can’t believe it!!

One of my layouts was chosen as LOTD at ESS!  I about fell out of my chair when I read that.  I am honored and thrilled to have been chosen.

I did it for a challenge at ESS and I loved working with all the flowers.

Then A+ Designs has a new kit out called Somewhere Over that I used for a speed scrap tonight.  I don’t have a preview so I’ve linked my layout to her store.

I guess I ought to call it a night.  Once the kids go to bed and it’s quiet around the house I get so much done.  But if I don’t go to bed I’ll be worthless tomorrow.

The poll is about to close

Check back Thursday to see which layout was chosen by my blog readers for the QP.  I had fun with the poll – I’ll have to do something like that a little more often.  I appreciate everyone that stopped by and commented on my layouts.  I enjoyed getting around yesterday and visiting different blogs too.  There’s a lot of beautiful memories being captured out there.

Tonight I got to work with a kit by Every EverAfter Moment Designs called Flower Seeds.  You can get it here @ STS.  This kit is loaded with goodies!  Goodness the 32 papers alone are a gem!

Here’s the layout I finished up tonight.  I was trying out some new techniques such as blending into the background.  It was fun!  The photos are from my backyard this afternoon.  I have some great photos of my youngest two playing that I’m sure will turn up in some layouts this week.

Busy, busy, busy

And I love every moment of it!  I forgot all about sharing these with you yesterday.  I got busy scrapping and then our oldest got sick (which we found out this morning is strep throat – so much for her solo and children’s choir program tonight) so it slipped my mind totally.

This Speed Scrap was so much fun!  I love how this page turned out.  Yes, the frames aren’t around a picture – we were suppose to use them in a non-traditional way and this was where my brain took that me.  It still amazes me how the same group of people see the same instruction and come up with so many interpretations.  My students are like that too but often what they come up with is much better than where my plan was taking me in the first place.

Finally I have a free kit to tell you about.  Yes you read that right FREE.  Scraps of Ellay has a kit coming out today on her blog that will be free for this week only.  It’s called Child’s play and it’s full of fun Primary and Secondary colors.  If you have children this is a great kit for you.  If you don’t have kids it’s a great kit anyway.  Take a look.  I linked the preview to her blog so you can go right there to pick it up.  If it’s not up yet check back tonight.

I love the fun colors in this kit.  The top layout also used a template by SuzyQ Scraps.  I usually make a QP to share with all of you, hmmm, how about you let me know which one of the Child’s Play layouts is your favorite either “First Days” or “Playing.”  Which ever one gets the most votes will be the one I’ll turn into a QP.  Voting will go from today until 9:00 pm CST Monday night.  The poll is over on the side bar . . . so go vote already!

Word Art Freebie

When I made the May Flowers QuickPage I took off the word art I had created so anyone who wanted to could easily customize the QP to their liking.  I liked the Word Art though and wanted you to have it if you wanted it.  So here it is: (this is only a preview, the Word Art file is a png file with only the words)

I’m still learning when it comes to Word Art but I enjoyed making this one.  I hope you like it and can use it.

Older QP’s will be gone

All of my older QP’s done with Scraps of Ellay’s kits will be coming down this weekend. I will be changing how long the QP’s will be available too. QP’s will be available for one week and then taken down. So if you click on my freebies link on the sidebar and see one you really like snag it before it’s gone.

New kits Friday

I had a chance to play with two new kits this week that are coming out today. First there is a collab by A+ Designs and Charlie's DigiScraps called Just For Mom available at ESS and SDD. I don't know what happened to my preview but here is a layout I did with Mel's part of this kit using a template by Nibbles Skribbles. Then there is a collab kit by A+ Designs and BekahE called Adventures Ahead available at SDD that is so cute!I missed posting this layout using a collab by A+ Designs and Dani Moy called Gavin's Toybox also available at ESS and SDD.

My son was thrilled that I was actually making more layouts with his pictures since I had done a lot with his sisters.

In honor of NSD Mel of A+Designs is having a 50% off sale on her kits. You really ought to check out her store. A sale like this doesn't come around very often and her kits are fantastic!
