We had to scrap on a musical theme and coordinate our layouts.  We chose Summer Nights from Grease and each one of us scrapped a line from the song.  We even got our layouts in order of the song!  Cool huh?  Voting ends today (Tuesday) so please go give us your support!

Oh, we discovered yesterday that if it said you had already voted that if you went and deleted your cookies you could vote.  Weirdness.

I just couldn’t help it

I think I may have a problem.  I just couldn’t help myself.  The call was too strong.  The chance too wonderful to pass up.  So I did it.  I just went ahead and took the plunge. 

Dani Moy had a CT call and I’ve been wanting to be part of her team since her 1st CT call.  I tried to talk myself out of it, I am already so lucky to work on the wonderful CT’s I’m a part of.  In the end I couldn’t resist.  And then she picked me to join her fabulous team!  Let me tell you there are some talented ladies on her team.  I’m scrambling to keep up!

This week I had the chance to work with a mini-kit that just went into Dani’s store at ESS called California Oranges.  It is a really fun kit and through tomorrow you can get it for $1.00!

Then I also got a chance to work with a kit Dani and Mel (A+ Designs) put into the store this week called Pool Party.  When these two do a collab you know it is going to be awesome!

I have a few things up my sleeve for you all, just trying to find time to finish them up.  Family matters have had to take front and center stage lately so other than my CT layouts I’ve had to be elsewhere, but I think things are settling in and I hope to get some time this weekend to play/work on some things I’ve started.

Battle of the CT

I don’t know where my head has been this week!  But I’m begging all of you to go over to DSA and vote for my team – Ellay’s Scrap Stars in the Battle of the CT’s!  It’s a 4 week scrap competition that pits a 5 member team of CT against other CT’s.  The week 1 layouts are simply amazing! 

The challenge this week was white space and the teams had to coordinate their layouts.  It had to be obvious that they were a common color scheme.  An added challenge was to also scrap a common theme.

I know that I’ve been quiet for about a week.  I have been busy, busy.  The sad thing is some of what I’ve been working on I can’t show you – YET.  Once I can be ready for a doozey of a post.

I do have a couple of events coming up this weekend to tell you about.  Both of them revolved around Christmas.  Yes, you heard me correctly, no you don’t need to get your eyes checked.  First, check out this sale at STS happening Saturday.

Great sale and I know there are several new kits that went into the store this week.  You might want to warm up that PayPal account!

Then the fairies and pixies over at ESS are having a PARTY this weekend.  A Christmas in July party!  Take a look and make plans to join in on all the fun.  I have gotten to work with one of the new kits – a collab by Mel of A+ Designs and Dani Moy Designs and it is a fun, funky, unexpected kit.  Its one that I think you’ll definitely want to check out.  I’ll be back on Thursday night/Friday morning to show it to you.  I linked the ad to the ESS forum so you can jump on board and join the fun in the scrap-a-thon.

I’ve also heard there are a lot of great giveaways planned and these freebies are the best!

I’ll try to come back later with some inspiration for you.  I know I’ve gotten some done, I just need to see which ones I can go ahead and post!

Every EverAfter Moment Designs has a new kit that I adore!  Man she packs these kits full!  It was so hard to pick a starting spot but the day I got this kit I did two layouts!

It’s Magyk (Magic)

Out in DigiWorld, Sale

I have been having a blast creating this weekend.  Here are a few things I’ve finished up.

First Scraps of Ellay has a new kit in her store at Stuff to Scrap called Date Night.  It’s 25% off this week and it’s a great kit.  You would probably think that I would create a romantic layout with a kit named Date night, right?  Well, my DH and I haven’t really been on a “date” in a while and I never took a camera along with us when we did so…

My Mom said she didn’t think I could ever find a use for the set of photos this came from – HA!

This kit really is gorgeous and I love the romantic colors.  Maybe DH and I’ll have a date night before too long and I’ll even take the camera along. 

Then I’ve been scrapping like crazy with templates by AmyM Designs from SDD.  Here are the previews:

And here are the layouts I did with these! On our vacation in Branson we spent a little time at the Butterfly Palace.  You are told not to touch the butterflies but that they will land on you and you have to wait for them to take off (or gently blow on them to encourage them to fly off).  I used a kit called Missing You by Dani Moy @ ESS for the layout above.

I used Scraps of Ellay’s Stars and Stripes kit for this one and it’s available this week for $1.99 plus another 30% off with the store sale that I’ll show you at the bottom of this post.  Pick it up at SOE’s store at STS!

This was also from when we visited the Butterfly Palace.  Nate really liked seeing the butterflies up close.  I used Dani Moy’s Boho Chic kit for this layout.  I know this is going to be one of my favorite kits.

This last one I used a freebie template called Liberty by AmyM Designs that you can still pick up on her blog here.

Just a real quick layout sharing today.  Some of you may have noticed a new CT blinkie.  For this month I’m getting to be a guest CT for AmyM Designs at SDD.  If you aren’t familiar with her templates they are terrific!  She has a new set in her store today called Hutchie’s Style.  Here is a layout I did with it and Ellay’s new kit Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

I’m so sorry that I haven’t posted a freebie in a little while for all of you.  I’ve just not felt the QP urge lately.  Don’t know why.  But I’ve tried my hand at a couple of new things.  First there was this tutorial on creating overlays from photos that I tried out and of course then I needed to do something with them so I tried my hand at making papers.  You know how it is you start one thing and it leads to another…

Well, the paper making bug hit and I started learning more about how to achieve the different looks I really like.  I was talking with Lori aka Scraps of Ellay (I love you LA!!) and she offered to let me try out some new CU overlays of her’s.  How lucky am I?!  They are fabulous!  BTW these overlays should be appearing in her store soon.

That led me to jumping in on a giveaway at Digital Craft Cottage.   Members of the Cottage can sign up to be part of a Members Collab Exchange.  If you join in you can download what the other's have posted and have a good sized kit at the end of the month.  I thought this month would be a good month to try it out (since I have a little free time on my hands).   If you would like to join in and get what the other members have then click on link above and sign up!
